Canberra Landscapes, July/August

So we moved to the other side of the planet, and we've set up house in Canberra, Australia. While we are waiting for our boxes, I've been working in a very small 'Moleskine' watercolour sketchbook.

I'm interested in working with the colours and shapes in the winter landscape. I've been using waterclour and my favorite neocolor 2 crayons.

House Series...

I finally finished this series of works for a friend... I don't usually paint in this realistic style and that's why it took me so long... And I'm happy to report, they really love them...

This is the last one I worked on, it's 70 x 30 cm. It is the whole view of the house. It's a typical Alsacien farm house.
The smaller works are 28 x 14cm. Very small and took a lot of effort with my 6 hair paint brush.

Click Here is the other work that I did in 2013 in Watercolour.

Going to the birds...

I love painting birds, and I was very happy to paint a friend for the puffin. This week they flew to Australia... to a very good home.
The toucan is 18 x 24 cm and is painted with watercolour, with a bit of collage.

Here's a close up!
